Louis Coplin II
Officer in Charge
Louis Coplin has dedicated his career to serving the students of Hudson Valley Community College.
For more than 35 years he has held numerous leadership positions at the college, most recently as Vice President for Student Affairs. In that role, Coplin provided administrative supervision to all departments within the Student Affairs division including Admissions, the Campus Judicial Coordinator, Enrollment Services, Student Development and Student Activities. He also served as president of the college’s Faculty Student Association, a 501 ( c )(3) not-for-profit organization that operates the Viking Child Care Center, the college bookstore, food services/catering and maintains oversight for the Athletics Department and Student Senate.
Throughout his professional career at Hudson Valley, Coplin has been instrumental in developing effective enrollment strategies, student retention efforts and community partnerships. He has guided specialized programs designed to enhance students’ academic and student experience through opportunity programs, mentoring and wellness activities, enhanced student life and community and civic engagement.
Coplin’s commitment to college and community service is a hallmark of his career. In 2001, he was awarded the 2001 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Professional Excellence.
